"Dracula". Sustaining. The first show of the series. + Columbia gave the famous young Orson Welles the chance to bring his celebrated repertory company from Broadway to "The Broadway of The Air". In this first of these excellent shows you are treated to the most famous horror story in the world, Bram Stokers Dracula. The recording is a little crackly, but even after over 60 years it is still well worth listening to. An adaptation of the original novel by Bram Stoker. Professor Van Helsing responds to an appeal from his friend John Seward to investigate his fiancee's strange affliction—she is slowly dying from blood depletion, apparently the victim of a vampire. The Lord of Vampires moves to England where the neighbours aren't so aware of his true nature.
